Here are samples of my most recent portrait work, executed in and out of the studio.  Up until now I have avoided people in my work.  They were only subjects of the snapshots taken to share with friends and family.   In fact, my landscape paintings are devoid of anything indicating a human presence.  My attitude began to shift as the Metropoles series developed, where architecture became abstracted, in turn bringing out the ”personality” of the buildings as juxtaposed by the architects of our big cities.  I now stand in amazement of the wonderful personalities my subjects allow to shine through in these portraits.
